Accessing the NDIS

Welcome to Helping Hands Community Services! If you or someone you care for has a disability and you are looking for support, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can provide you with the assistance you need to achieve your goals and live the life you want.

To access the NDIS, you must first meet certain eligibility criteria. You must have a permanent and significant disability, be aged between 7 and 65 years old, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and reside in an area where the NDIS is available.

If you meet these criteria, you can start the process of accessing the NDIS by contacting the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). You can do this by calling the NDIA on 1800 800 110 or visiting their website at www.ndis.gov.au. They will provide you with information on how to apply for the NDIS, and guide you through the application process.

The application process for the NDIS involves completing an Access Request Form and providing supporting documentation that demonstrates your disability and its impact on your daily life. Once your application has been received, the NDIA will assess your eligibility for the scheme and determine the funding and support you require.

If you are eligible for the NDIS, you will work with a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or a NDIA Planner to develop a plan that outlines your goals and the support and funding you require to achieve them. You can then choose a disability support provider like us to help you implement your plan and access the services and support you need to live the life you want.

At Helping Hands, we are committed to empowering participants of the NDIS and helping them to achieve their goals. If you have any questions about accessing the NDIS or would like more information about our services, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Don't just dream it.... Live it!
